68th FIFA Congress제68회 FIFA 총회가 2018 FIFA 월드컵에 앞서 2018년 6월 13일 러시아 모스크바에서 열렸다.[1]
2026년 FIFA 월드컵 개최국
1966년 FIFA 월드컵 개최지가 국제축구연맹(FIFA)에 의해 선정된 이후 처음 있는 일이었다.입찰절차는 당초 2015년부터 시작될 예정이었는데 2017년 5월 10일 말레이시아 쿠알라룸푸르에서 열리는 국제축구연맹(FIFA) 총회에 개최국 선임이 예정돼 있었다.[2][3]2015년 6월 10일 FIFA는 2026년 FIFA 월드컵 유치 절차가 연기되었다고 발표했다.[4][5]그러나 2016년 5월 10일 FIFA 평의회 회의에 이어 2020년 5월 4단계 공정에서 마지막 입찰 일정이 발표됐다.[6]유나이티드 입찰(캐나다/멕시코/미국)은 모로코를 상대로 134표를 얻어 65표를 얻은 2026년 월드컵을 수상했으며, 이란으로부터는 단 1표도 낙찰되지 않았다.
