제교시장
Zegyo Market만달레이 중심부에 위치한 제교시장(Burmese: ဈးချုု)은 만달레이에서 가장 오래되고 중요한 시장이다.
역사
제교시장은 민돈왕 때 12에이커(4.86헥타르)에 걸쳐 조성되었다. 콩, 감귤류, 목화, 견과류, 양파, 쌀, 담배, 밀 등의 주요 유통 중심지였으며 은, 금 자수 등 보석과 수공예품의 주요 시장이었다.[1] 시장은 1897년 화재로 소실되었고,[2] 1903년 이탈리아인 콘테 칼데라리 백작이 설계한 석조 건축물로 재건되었다.[3] 1990년대에는 식민지 시대 구조가 허물어져 중국식 쇼핑센터로 대체되었다.[3]
