야흘은 오스트레일리아 남호주 주에 있는 지방으로 감비에르 산에서 남동쪽으로 약 7km(4.3mi) 떨어진 주 남동쪽에 위치해 있는데, 그 자체는 아델라이드 주 수도에서 남동쪽으로 약 384km(239mi) 떨어져 있다.[1]

오늘날 야엘 일대는 분간디지 사람들이 거주하고 있었다.[citation needed] Yahl은 "물, 많은 물"[9]의 토착어다.

남호주 문화유산 등기부에는 옛 오스트 하우스와 부속 스톤 빌딩, 독일식 별장에 다음과 같은 국가유산이 등재되어 있다.[10][11]

2016년 8월에 실시된 2016년 호주 인구 조사에서는 야엘의 인구가 855명이고 이 중 224명이 도시 중심지에 살고 있다고 보고하고 있다.[3][2]

야흘은 감비에르 산의 주 선거구, 그랜트 지방의회의 지방정부 구역인 바커의 연방 분단 내에 위치한다.[7][6][1]
