1946-1980: 국가 건설

아라비아 반도의 북동쪽 모서리에 있는 페르시아 만의 머리에 위치한 쿠웨이트는 국토 면에서 세계에서 가장 작은 나라 중 하나입니다. 쿠웨이트는 북위 28도에서 31도 사이에 위치하며, 위도 46도에서 49도 사이에 위치합니다. 쿠웨이트는 일반적으로 저지대이며, 가장 높은 지점은 해수면에서 306m (1,004피트)입니다.[12] 무틀라 능선은 쿠웨이트에서 가장 높은 지점입니다.

쿠웨이트 섬은 4종의 테른사코트라 가마우지의 중요한 번식지입니다.[235] 쿠바르 섬흰뺨검둥오리번식지를 지원하기 때문에 BirdLife International에 의해 중요 조류 지역(IBA)으로 인정되었습니다.[237]

물과 위생

쿠웨이트는 세계에서 물이 가장 많은 나라입니다.

알 사바 왕조

쿠웨이트의 외교 업무는 외교부 차원에서 처리됩니다. 1961년에 최초의 외교부 국이 설립되었습니다. 쿠웨이트는 1963년 5월 유엔의 111번째 회원국이 되었습니다. 아랍 연맹걸프 협력 위원회의 오랜 회원국입니다.

쿠웨이트의 외국인 노동자들에 대한 학대는 여러 가지 세간의 이목을 끄는 외교적 위기를 초래했습니다. 2018년 쿠웨이트에서 필리핀 노동자들의 학대로 쿠웨이트와 필리핀외교적 위기가 있었습니다. 쿠웨이트에 있는 필리핀인의 약 60%가 가사 노동자로 고용되어 있습니다. 2018년 7월 쿠웨이트 패셔니스타 손도스 알카탄(Sondos Alqattan)은 필리핀 출신 가사 노동자들을 비난하는 논란의 영상을 공개했습니다.[313] 2020년 쿠웨이트에서 이집트 노동자들의 학대로 쿠웨이트와 이집트 간 외교적 위기가 있었습니다.[314]

여러 쿠웨이트인들이 알 사바 집권 가문을 비난한 뒤 수감됐습니다.[315] 2010년 미국 국무부는 집권 알사바 가문을 비판한 혐의로 재판을 받던 쿠웨이트 블로거이자 언론인 모하마드 압둘 카데르 알 자셈의 사건에 대해 우려를 표했으며 유죄가 확정되면 최대 18년의 징역형에 처했다고 밝혔습니다.[316] 그는 쿠웨이트의 에미르인 셰이크 사바 알아흐마드 알사바 사무실로부터 그에 대한 고소장이 발부된 후 구금되었습니다.[316]
