미국 대표 도서 목록(의회 회고록)
U.S. representative bibliography (congressional memoirs)전현직 미국 대표들이 미국 의회 회고록을 기록한 책이다.[1][2] 미 하원은 상원을 포함하는 양원제 입법부인 미 의회의 두 집 중 하나이다.
의회의 구성과 권한은 헌법 제1조에 규정되어 있다. 하원의 주요 권한은 상원을 통과해야 하고 법이 되기 전에 대통령이 추가로 동의해야 하지만(하원과 상원이 각 의회에서 3분의 2의 찬성으로 법안을 재 통과시키지 않는 한) 국가 전체에 영향을 미치는 연방법을 통과시키는 것이다. 각 주는 그 인구에 비례하여 하원의 대표직을 받지만 적어도 한 명의 대표자를 가질 권리가 있다. 총 투표 대표 수는 법으로 435명으로 정해져 있다.[3] 각 대표는 2년 임기로 근무한다. 전통적으로 다수당의 대표인 미국 하원의장은 하원 의원들이 선출하는 의회 의장이다.
