팀 바넷(정치인)

티모시 앤드루 바넷(Timothy Andrew Barnett, 1958년 8월 4일생)은 뉴질랜드의 정치인으로 1996년부터 2008년까지 크라이스트처치 센트럴의 뉴질랜드 하원 의원으로 노동당을 대표하였다. 그는 뉴질랜드의 영국 이민자였고 뉴질랜드의 두 번째 공개 동성애 정치인이다. 바넷은 2009년 HIV/AIDS 분야에서 일하기 위해 남아프리카로 이주했다. 그는 2012년 노동당에 의해 그들의 총비서로 임명되면서 뉴질랜드로 돌아왔다.

초년기

1958년 8월 4일 영국 워릭셔주 럭비에서 태어난 그는 1991년 전 파트너였던 조나단 커크패트릭과 함께 뉴질랜드로 이주했다.^[1] 런던 경제대학원에서 교육을 받은 뒤 1981년 경제학(정부) B.S.C(명예)로 졸업했다. 영국에서 그는 스톤월 로비 그룹의 초대 이사였는데, 스톤월 로비 그룹은 레즈비언과 게이들의 평등한 권리를 위해 일하기 위해 그 나라에 설립된 최초의 전문 로비 그룹이었다.

국회의원

1996년 크라이스트처치 센트럴의 의원(MP)으로 선출되었다. 1997년발견한 노동당(레인보우 노동)의 레즈비언, 게이, 트랜스젠더(LGBT)부문 등 뉴질랜드의 많은 지역 기반 조직에서 활동해 왔으며, 뉴질랜드 대학의 퀴어 학생회 유니큐의 후원자다. 2003년 법률이 돼 세계 최초로 매춘을 처벌하는 법안을 만든 성매매특별법 개혁법안의 의회 발의자였고, 2004년 법률이 돼 유럽 밖 최초로 f를 입법한 뉴질랜드가 민노총 법안의 노골적인 지지자였다.또는 레즈비언과 게이 커플의 동등한 관계 지위. 그는 2005년 선거 이후 정부 고위 관리로 임명되었다. 그는 지역 유권자들이 청소년 자문 위원회를 주재하는 데 매우 적극적일 뿐만 아니라 세인트 앨번스 근린 뉴스의 정기 기고자로 알려져 있다.

2005년 총선에서 바넷은 52.35%의 득표율과 6,694명의 과반수를 얻어 재선되었다. 2008년 총선에서 은퇴하였다.

국회의사당

바넷은 2009년 2월 세계 에이즈 캠페인의 글로벌 프로그램 매니저로 임명되었으며, 남아프리카 공화국의 케이프타운에 본사를 두고 있었다.

2012년 7월 바넷은 뉴질랜드로 돌아와 노동당 총비서에 임명되었다.^[2]

바넷은 2015년 10월 뉴질랜드 풍요의 다이나투아에 있는 남부 반구 최대 생활 빌딩 테우루 타우마타에 근거지를 둔 이위(트라이브) 그룹 매니저로 응아이 투회(Tribe)의 이위 부족 권위에 임명되었다. 그 역할에서 Barnett은 포트폴리오의 Health, Housing, Education and Social Well-Being을 맡았다. 바넷은 그 기간 동안 루아토키의 시골 마을에 거주했다.

바넷은 2017년 6월 뉴질랜드의 재정능력 및 예산자문기관 네트워크를 서비스하고 강화하는 데 전념하는 새로운 전국적인 기관인 핀캡(The National Building Financial Capability Trust)의 CEO가 된다. 그러한 지역 서비스들은 긴급하고 깊은 재정적인 문제에 직면한 사람들이 그들의 부채를 관리하고 성공적으로 앞으로 나아갈 길을 찾을 수 있도록 지원한다. FinCap은 NZ 전체에 걸쳐 200개의 기관으로 구성된 네트워크를 가지고 있으며, 모든 뉴질랜드 국민들의 안녕에 부채와 기타 관련 요소들이 가지고 있는 해악의 지형을 바꾸는 것을 목표로 정부 및 NGO와 협력하고 있다.

현재까지 바넷은 뉴질랜드 의회의 자문위원이자 멘토로서 iwi 거버넌스 전략계획을 지원하고 보조하고 있다.
