캐리비안 커뮤니티의 사무총장커뮤니티의 최고 경영자이며 주요 행정기관인 캐리콤 사무국의 수장이다.

원래 [1]조약과 [2]개정된 [2]조약에 따르면 사무총장은 각료회의(및 원래 조약에서는 공동시장위원회)의 권고에 따라 5년 이내의 임기로 정부 수반회의에 의해 임명되며, 이사회에 의해 연임될 수 있다.입력하다

사무총장은 공동체 기관의 적용을 받으며 다양한 규정에 따라 다음과 같은 기능을 수행한다.

  • 커뮤니티의 대표
  • 권한 있는 커뮤니티 기관의 결정을 실행 가능한 제안으로 발전시킨다.
  • 지역 차원의 의사결정을 이행하고 연구를 수행하며 관련 문제에 대한 의사결정을 실행 가능한 제안으로 개발하기 위해 필요에 따라 외부 자원을 식별하고 동원한다.
  • 지역사회 목표 달성을 위한 지역 차원의 결정 이행(명령에 따라)
  • 해당 회원국의 동의를 얻어 국가 당국의 입법적 또는 행정적 조치가 필요하지 않은 공동체 결정을 이행한다.
  • 커뮤니티 의사결정의 이행에 관한 감시 및 보고
  • 지역사회의 목표를 달성하기 위해 관할 기관의 검토 및 결정을 위한 제안의 개시 또는 개발
  • 총회 또는 기타 관할 기관이 할당한 기타 기능.

현 사무총장은 2021년 5월 어윈 라로케(도미니카, 2011년 임명) 사무총장의 뒤를 이어 선출된 [1]카를라 바넷(벨리즈)이다.

CARIFTA 사무총장을 포함한 모든 사무총장은 [2]가이아나 조지타운 캠프 스트리트에 있는 콜그레인 하우스에 거주했습니다.

Colgrain House, once the home of sugar magnate, Jock Campbell, has been an integral component of the regional integration movement from the Community’s inception.
