로버트 쇼 올리버(Robert Shaw Oliver, 1847년 9월 13일 ~ 1935년 3월 15일)는 미국의 군인이자 사업가였다.

초년기

올리버는 1847년 9월 13일 매사추세츠 보스턴에서 태어났다. 다니엘 아우구스투스 올리버와 엘리자베스 윌러드(1823–1850) 올리버(1823–1850)의 아들로 태어난 지 3년 만에 세상을 떠났다.[1]

그의 외조부모는 로버트 굴드 쇼와 엘리자 윌러드(네 파크만) 쇼였다. 폐위주의자인 삼촌 프랜시스 조지 쇼와 부인 사라 블레이크 스터지스 쇼(Sarah Blake Sturgis Shaw)를 통해 그는 조세핀로웰(Charles Russell Lowell의 아내)과 로버트 굴드 (내전 중 제2차 포트 바그너 전투에서 전사)의 사촌이었다. 삼촌 퀸시 아담스 쇼와 아내 폴린 아가시즈 쇼를 통해 그는 부유한 지주 로버트 굴드 2세의 사촌(나중에 viscounty astor가 된 낸시 랑호른의 첫 남편)이기도 했다.[2]

경력

올리버는 17세의 나이에 매사추세츠 제5기병대에서 소위로 복무했다. 남북전쟁이 끝난 후, 그는 1879년까지 텍사스의 25군단과 캘리포니아, 오레곤, 애리조나의 8기병대에 배정된 육군에서 많은 인디언 운동에서 싸웠다.[3]

사생활

1870년 올리버는 존 핀리 래스본 장군과 메리(네 베이커) 래스본의 딸 마리온 루시 래스본(1847~1926)과 결혼했다. 그들에게는 네 명의 자녀가 있었다.[2]

올리버는 1935년 3월 15일 사우스캐롤라이나주 찰스턴에서 사망했으며,[2] 공동묘지의 묘지 카드에 따르면 화장되어 부인 마리온과 함께 알바니 농촌 공동묘지에 묻혔다.

후손

딸 코라를 통해 헬렌(네 조아테) 플랫(1906~1974)의 할아버지,[14] 외교관 니콜라스 플랫의 증조부, 잠비아, 필리핀, 파키스탄의 전 미국 대사, 배우 올리버 플랫의 증조부였다.[15] 또한 코라를 통해 마리온(네 조아테) 하딩(1905~1979)의 할아버지였으며, 뉴욕증권거래소 회장을 지낸 찰스 바니 하딩스미스 바니앤코(할아버지 찰스 D가 설립)와 결혼했다. 바니).[16]
