질 좋은 언론은 영국 신문의 심각성으로 구분되는 전국 발행 부수의 범주다. 이 카테고리는 여러 논문이 타블로이드판 인쇄 형식을 채택할 때까지 "브로드시트"라고 불렸다. The Times와 The Independent 모두 2004년에 타블로이드판 형식을 채택했다. 가디언은 2005년 베를린 형식을 채택한 뒤 2018년 1월 타블로이드판으로 전환했다.
최근 들어 품질매체의 발행부수가 감소하고 있으며, 2009년 12월 《가디언》, 《독립신문》, 《타임즈》, 《파이낸셜타임스》의 독자수가 지난 12개월 동안 감소했다고 보도되었다.[1]
