Pondicherry 크리켓 협회(CAP)는 이전에 Pondicherry로 알려진 Pondicherry에서 크리켓의 관리 기관이다. 푸두체리는 인도의 유니온 준주이자 제안된 폰디체리 크리켓 팀을 위한 것이다. 2017년 10월 27일 대법원에서 지명된 행정자치위원회(coA)는 푸두체리 크리켓협회(CAP)에 준회원권을 부여했다.[5] [6] 이에 앞서 타밀나두 크리켓 협회(TNCA)에 구립 협회로서 소속되어 있었다.
2018년 7월 푸두체리의 크리켓 협회는 감독 겸 선수 역할을 위해 아비셰크 나야르에게 접근했다.[7] 하지만, 하루 후, 나야르는 푸두체리 감독직을 배제했다.[8] 2018년 8월, 나야르는 푸두체리로 옮기기로 결심했다.[9]
