피터 맨스필드 (역사학자)

Peter Mansfield (historian)

피터 맨스필드(Peter Mansfield, 1928년 9월 2일 인도 란치 출생, 1996년 3월 9일 영국 워릭 사망)는 영국의 정치전문기자였다.[1]그는 캠브리지 주 윈체스터 칼리지와 펨브로크 칼리지에서 교육을 받았으며, 그곳에서 케임브리지 연합의 대통령으로 선출되었다.[1]

1956년 수에즈 사건으로 영국 외무부에서 사임했다.[2]그는 베이루트에서 일하면서 중동 포럼을 편집했으며 파이낸셜 타임즈, 이코노미스트, 가디언, 인디안 익스프레스, 그리고 다른 신문들에서 정기적으로 글을 썼다.1961년부터 1967년까지 그는 선데이 타임즈의 중동 특파원이었다.

그가 저술한 저서는 식민주의와 중동의[3] 혁명이다.중동: 정치 경제 조사, 튀니지의[4] 하빕 부르기바, 아랍 세계의 누가, 나세르의 이집트, 나세르: 쿠웨이트 이집트의 영국 전기: 걸프 만과 아랍의 뱅가드와 중동의 역사.

2013년 니콜라스 펠햄이 세상을 떠난 뒤 2019년 다섯 번째 추가판이 출간됐다.
