중전설 비원순 모음은 일부구어권에서 사용되는 모음의 일종이다.국제음성문자에는 닫힘[e]와 열림[]] 사이의 정확한 중후설 비원순 모음을 나타내는 전용 기호는 없지만, 보통 'e'로 표기된다.정밀도가 필요한 경우 "e" 또는 "e"와 같은 분음 부호를 사용할 수 있습니다(전자는 더 낮음을 나타내며 더 일반적입니다).중국학이나 한국학에서는 정장상방 재구성 등에서 for江上方이 사용되기도 한다.
중저모음 영역(닫힘모음도, 열림모음도 아님)에 음소전설 비원순 모음이 하나뿐인 언어의 경우, 해당 모음은 진정한 중저모음으로 발음되며, 중저모음 또는 중저모음과 음성학적으로 구별된다.예를 들어 바스크어, 스페인어, 루마니아어, 일본어, 터키어, 핀란드어, 그리스어, 헤가지 아랍어, 세르보-크로아티아어, 한국어(서울 방언) 등이 있다.영어의 많은 방언들 또한 이러한 중모음을 가지고 있다.그러나 일반적인 성향은 없다.예를 들어, 이그보와 이집트 아랍어는 [e]의 중저음이 있고, 불가리아어는 [e]의 중저음이 있지만, 이들 언어에는 또 다른 음소적인 중저모음이 없습니다.
말레이시아와 태국에서 사용되는 켄지우는 후설이나 [1]원순과 같은 다른 매개 변수에서 차이가 없이 음성학적으로 중저모음과 중저모음이 구별되는 진중모음을 가지고 있다는 점에서 독특하다고 알려져 있다.
