마낙코담 등대는 체르탈라 인근 케랄라의 알라푸자 지구에 위치해 있다. 타워는 33.8m(110.9ft) 높이의 콘크리트 구조물로, 사각 단면이 있다.[2] 1979년 8월 1일 취임하였다. 1979년 이전에는 이 지역에 전등이 없었다. 광원은 1998년 9월 21일 백열등에서 메탈할라이드로 바뀌었다.[3][4][5]
광원은 10초에 두 번 깜박인다.[6]
