막달레나 스키퍼는 영국의 유전학자며 네이처지의 편집장이다.[2] 그녀는 이전에 Nature Reviews Genetics와[3][4] 오픈 액세스 저널인 Nature Communications의 편집자로 일했다.
교육
스키퍼는 노팅엄 대학에서 유전학 학사 학위를 취득했다.[5][6] 그녀는 1998년 캠브리지 대학에서 박사과정을 마치고 조나단 호지킨의 연구실에서 성 결정체계를 연구하며 선충의 선충을 연구했다.[1][7] 그녀는 케임브리지 코퍼스 크리스티 칼리지의 일원이다.[8]
직업 및 연구
박사 과정을 마친 후 그녀는 케임브리지 대학교의 MRC(Medical Research Council) 분자생물학 연구소에 들어갔다.[9][7] 그녀는 잠시 제국 암 연구 기금에서 박사후 연구원으로 일하면서 내장이 발달하는 제브라피쉬의 노치 신호 경로를 연구했다.[7][10]
스키퍼는 2001년 네이처 리뷰 유전학 부편집장으로 네이처에 입사했다.[7] 편집장에서 그녀는 앤 맥라렌,[11] 마리오 카페치[12], 올리버 스미시스 등 유명 과학자들을 인터뷰했다.[13] 2002년에 그녀는 네이처 리뷰 유전학의 편집장으로 임명되었고, 2008년에 부 출판사로 승격되었다.[14][15] 그녀는 옥스퍼드 대학의 개인 맞춤 의학 센터의 자문 위원회에서 일하고 있다.[16] 스키퍼는 시애틀의 알티우스 생명과학 연구소에서 과학 커뮤니케이션 담당 이사로 잠시 일했다.[5][8]
