MTV 인도는 음악, 현실, 청소년 문화 프로그램을 전문으로 하는 인도의 유료 텔레비전 채널이다. 1996년 인도판 MTV로 출범했으며, MTV 인터내셔널 오너인 비아콤CBS와 릴라이언스인더스트리 TV18의 합작법인 비아콤 18이 소유하고 있다. 채널의 프로그래밍은 대부분 힌두어로 제작된다.[1] MTV 인도는 뭄바이의 빌레 팔레에 본사를 두고 있다.[2]

관련 채널

2014년 비아콤 18은 펩시사와 손잡고 인디 음악 및 하위 문화 채널인 펩시 MTV 인디즈를 론칭했다.[3]

2016년 MTV 인디스는 24시간 음악 전용 채널인 MTV 비트로 대체되었다. MTV 인도는 출시 후 리얼리티 시리즈 방송으로 초점을 바꿨다.[4]

VH1 인도는 국제 음악과 함께 MTV 인도에서 MTV의 국제적인 제작물을 방송한다.

MTV 풀 팔투 영화

MTV Full Palto Films의 기치 아래 일련의 스푸핑 영화들이 MTV에 의해 제작되었다. 2004년 영화 Dhoom을 패러디한 첫 영화 Ghoom은 2006년 6월 2일에 극적으로 개봉되었다.[14][15] 2008년 9월 20일부터 10월 4일까지 MTV에서 '풀 팔투 영화제'(Fully Palto Film Festival)로 방영된 3편의 스푸핑 영화 '자두 에크 바'(Jodhaa Akbar), '베샤레 자메엔 파'(Taare Zameen Par), '체크 드 인디아'(Chak De! India)가 추가로 방영되었다.[16]
