남아시아의 세계유산
List of World Heritage Sites in Southern Asia유네스코(유엔교육과학문화기구)는 아프가니스탄, 인도, 네팔, 파키스탄, 스리랑카, 방글라데시 등 남아시아 6개국(이하 "주정부 정당"이라고도 한다)에 61개의 세계유산을 지정했다. 이 지역 내에도 위치한 부탄과 몰디브는 세계문화유산이 없다.[1][2]
이 지역에서 인도는 40개의 부지가 있는 가장 많은 유적지(전 세계 5위)가 있는 곳이다.[3] 인도 외에도 네팔의 첫 번째 장소는 사가르마타 국립공원과 카트만두 계곡이었다.[4] 네팔에는 총 4개의 사이트가 있다. 스리랑카는 8곳, 방글라데시는 3곳이다. 파키스탄에는 6개의 사이트가 있다. 두 곳이 아프가니스탄에 위치해 있는데, 두 곳 모두 멸종위기에 처해 있다. 매년 유네스코의 세계유산위원회는 목록에 새로운 유적지를 새기거나 더 이상 그 기준을 충족하지 못하는 유적지를 상장시킬 수 있다. 선정 기준은 문화유산(i-vi) 6건, 자연유산(vi-x) 4건 등 10건이다.[5] '혼합지'로 지정된 일부 유적지는 문화유산과 자연유산을 모두 대표한다. 남아시아에는 48개의 문화, 12개의 자연, 1개의 혼합된 장소가 있다.[6]
세계유산위원회는 또한 "세계유산목록에 어떤 재산이 새겨진 바로 그 특성을 위협하는 조건"을 들어 그 부지가 멸종위기에 처해 있다고 명시할 수 있다. 이 지역의 두 곳은 현재 멸종위기에 처해있다.[7]
