내슈빌 사운즈 마이너리그 야구팀은 1978년 더블 아 서던리그 의 확장팀 으로 창단된 이후 테네시주 내슈빌 에서 뛰었다.[1] 그들은 1998년 퍼시픽 코스트 리그 에 합류하기 전에 1985년 미국 협회 회원으로 트리플 A 로 이적했다.[1] 2021년 마이너리그 구조조정으로 2022년 국제리그 가 된 트리플A 동부 에 배치됐다.[2] [3] 그 팀은 역사를 통틀어 52명의 코치를 활용했다. 투수코치 27명, 타격코치 21명, 벤치코치 1명, 불펜코치 1명, 종합코치 1명, 감독 1명 등이다.사운드스 코칭스태프는 2022시즌 현재 릭 스위트 감독 이 이끌고 있으며 제레미 아카르도 (피칭), 알 레보프(히팅), 네드 요스트 4세(일반),[4] 숀 아이작(개발) 등이 소속돼 있다.[5]
마이너리그 팀에 배정된 감독들은 각 메이저리그 조직 의 발전 접근법에 따라 달라진다. 주로 사운드스 직원들은 투타 코치만 포함시켰지만 2019년에는 불펜과 벤치 코치가 활용됐다. 1990년대까지만 해도 메이저리그에서 성행하지 않았던 벤치 코치의 역할은 감독이 구단을 이끌어갈 수 있도록 가장 도움이 되는 것은 무엇이든 하는 것이다.[6] [7] 그들은 매니저에게 게임 내 고문으로 활동할 수 있으며, 그가 게임 결정을 하는데 도움을 줄 수 있는 상황적 조언을 제공할 수 있다. 감독이 퇴장 , 정직 또는 기타 경기에 참석할 수 없는 경우, 벤치 코치는 일반적으로 감독 대행의 자리를 맡는다. 벤치 코치는 또한 클럽하우스에서, 특히 선수-코치 커뮤니케이션과 관련하여 긍정적인 문화를 구축하고자 할 수 있다.[8] 투수코치는 팀의 투수들 에게 역학, 피치 선택, 경기 준비 등을 지도할 책임이 있다. 경기 중에는 투수 조건과 팔 상태를 감독에게 조언하고, 현재 마운드 에 있는 투수의 경기내 코치로 활동한다. 감독이 마운드를 방문할 때 일반적으로 투구 변화를 주거나 상황 수비를 논의하기 위해 그렇게 하고 있다. 하지만 투수코치는 주로 마운드를 방문해 투수를 진정시키거나 특정 타자에게 어떻게 던질지 의논하는 사람이다.[9] 불펜 감독은 경기 전후 책임이 비슷하다. 경기 중에는 불펜 코치가 구원투수들 과 호흡을 맞추고 불펜 에서 워밍업을 감독한다.[10] 타격 코치는 선수들과 함께 타격 기술과 폼을 향상시키기 위해 일한다. 그는 경기 중과 시즌 내내 선수들의 스윙을 모니터하면서 필요할 때 타석 사이 에서 조정 가능성을 조언한다. 그는 또한 연습, 케이지 세션, 그리고 경기 전 타격 연습 동안 그들의 경기력을 감독한다.[11] 개발코치는 선수 데이터, 스카우트 정보 등 분석의 관찰과 적용을 통해 선수 성적 향상을 위해 일한다.[12]
사운드스 출신 선수 6명은 이후 팀의 코치로 활동했다. 1982년 선발 로테이션 의 웨인 갈랜드 가 1987년부터 1988년까지 투수코치로 복귀했다.[13] 1980년 불펜에서 투구한 돈 쿠퍼 는 1994년부터 1996년까지 투수코치를 지냈다.[14] 구원투수 스티브 윌슨은 1995년 시즌에 사운드스에서 은퇴하여 팀의 투수코치가 되었다.[15] 1993년 팀의 구원투수 프레드 다브니는 2012년부터 2014년까지 코치 투수로 돌아왔다.[16] 2008년 두 차례 메이저리그 재활에 나선 에릭 가그네는 2019년 불펜 코치를 맡았다.[17] 2011년부터 2012년까지 2014년까지 구원투수로 활약했던 짐 헨더슨은 2021년 투수코치로 사운드에 복귀했다.[18] 외야수 진루프 (1986)와 포수 버디 프라이어(1987)는 팀에서 뛰면서 타격 코치를 하는 선수 코치였다.두 명의 코치도 내슈빌 구단을 운영했다. 투수코치 웨인 갈런드는 잭 린드 감독의 해임 이후 1988년 3경기 임시 감독으로 부임했다.[19] 1998년부터 2000년까지 타격코치로 활약했던 리치 헤브너 는 트렌트 주세트 가 피츠버그 파이어리츠 의 3루 코치 로 영입되면서 2000년 시즌 후반 팀의 감독이 됐다.[20] 스텐 카일스 (2006년), 리치 게일 (2011년), 밥 스쿠브 (2014년), 릭 로드리게스 (2017년) 등 4명의 감독이 트리플A 올스타전 에 출전할 코치로 선정됐다.[21] [22]
1980~1981년 팻 돕슨 의 투수진은 3.18 평균자책점 (ERA)을 기록해 모든 투수 코치 중 최하위를 기록했다. 다롤드 노울스 (2001~2004년)와 스탠 카일스(2005~2008년)는 각각 4시즌을 풀타임으로 소화한 최장수 투수 코치다.타격코치 제프 리비시 (2001)와 샌디 게레로 (2009~2011)는 타자들을 타율 0.276으로 이끌며 역대 타격코치 중 가장 높은 타율을 기록했다. 4시즌 동안 타격 코치를 맡았던 로저 라프랑코이스 (1993~1996)는 최장수 타격 코치.
