리암 케네디는 아일랜드의 시골 [2]티퍼리에서 태어났다.

2005년에 케네디는 IRA의 폭력, 특히 준군사적 처벌 공격에 항의하기 위해 벨파스트 웨스트의 무소속 후보로 게리 아담스에 반대했다.[3]그는 147표로 꼴찌를 했다.[4]그는 많은 피해자가 미성년자이고 14세 미만인 점을 고려해 아동학대의 한 형태로 간주하는 처벌 공격에 대한 조사 위원회를 요구해 왔다.케네디에 따르면 신페인은 이번 테러에 연루돼 있으며, 당은 이를 부인하고 있다.[5][6]
