라틴 그래미상 최우수 신인상은 매년 라틴 그래미상 시상식에서 수여되는 영예로, 국가적으로나 국제적으로나 라틴 음반 작가들의 문화적 다양성과 공헌에 대한 폭넓은 인식을 심어주는 시상식이다.[1]이 상은 솔로 아티스트나 그룹이 먼저 공연자로서 대중에게 정체성을 확립하고, 참가자격 기간 동안 스페인어 또는 포르투갈어 녹음물을 공개하는 경우에 수여된다.[2]2012년에 아카데미는 이 부문(올해의 앨범, 올해의 레코드, 올해의 노래 외에)을 발표하여 음악 산업 내에서의 변화를 반영하기 위해 10명의 지명자를 포함할 것이라고 발표했다.[3]
최우수 신인상은 2000년 쿠바 출신 가수 이브라힘 페러에게 처음 수여됐다.그를 스타덤에 올려놓은 다큐멘터리 부에나 비스타 소셜 클럽의 개봉을 계기로, 페러는 60년 동안 연기자로 활동한 후 73세의 나이로 이 상을 받았다.[4][5]그 다음 수상자는 쥬아네스, 호르헤 모레노, 데이비드 비스발이었다.2004년에 브라질 가수 마리아 리타가 첫 여성 우승자가 되었다.[6]스페인 싱어송라이터 베베는 2005년 상을 받은 지 1년 만에 은퇴를 선언했지만, 5년 뒤 2집 앨범 Y의 발매로 가요계에 복귀했다.[7]The bands Calle 13 and Jesse & Joy won the next two awards, followed by singers Kany García, Alexander Acha, Alex Cuba, Sie7e, Mexican DJs 3Ball MTY, Gaby Moreno, Mariana Vega, Manuel Medrano, Vicente García, Karol G, Nella and Mike Bahía.스페인 가수 로잘리아는 2017년 이 상의 첫 번째 후보에 올랐고, 2020년에는 그래미상 최우수 신인상이 되었다.
