케랄라 주립 영화상 남우주연상은 1969년에 시작된 상으로, 매년 인도 케랄라 주립 영화상에서 말라얄람 영화에서 최우수 연기를 한 배우에게 수여됩니다. 1997년까지 상은 케랄라 정부의 문화부에 의해 직접 관리되었습니다. 1998년부터 이 상은 문화부 산하의 비영리 자율 기관인 케랄라 주립 찰라치트라 아카데미에 의해 구성되었습니다.[1] 수상자는 매년 구성된 배심원단에 의해 결정됩니다.[2] 그것들은 문화부 장관이 발표하고 최고 장관이 발표합니다.[3]
