케네스 웨스
Kenneth Westhues케네스 웨스스는 캐나다의 사회학자다. 1975년부터 1978년까지 이 학과장을 맡았던 워털루 대학 사회학 명예교수다. 그는 학계의 직장 내 괴롭힘에 관한 몇 권의 저자나 편집자다.
초년기
Westhues는 1970년에 Vanderbilt 대학에서 사회학 박사학위를 취득했다.[1][2]
경력
Westhes는 1971년 Guelph 대학의 사회학 교수였다.[3] 이후 워털루 대학의 사회학과에 입학하여 1975년부터 1978년까지 학과장을 지냈다.[4]
Westhues는 처음에 교회와 국가의 관계에 대한 연구를 발표했다.[5] 그는 그 후 히피 운동에 대한 연구를 발표하였다.[3] Westhues는 학계의 직장 내 괴롭힘에 관한 책을 여러 권 저술하고 편집했다. 그의 연구는 외국인이나 다른 성별과 같은 개인적인 차이, 음악이나 문학 같은 포스트 모던 분야에서 일하거나 재정적인 압박, 혹은 공격적인 우월성을 갖는 것에 의해 취약성이 증가한다는 것을 발견했다.[6] 다른 요인으로는 시기심, 이단, 캠퍼스 정치 등이 있었다.[6]
