Free World

자유세계(Free World)는 1945년부터 1992년까지 냉전 시기에 주로 사용되었던 선전용어로 서구를 지칭한다.[1] 그것은 또한 더 광범위하게 모든 비공산국들을 가리킨다.[2] 전통적으로 미국, 유럽연합(EU), 북대서양조약기구(NATO)와 같은 국제기구 소속 국가들을 지칭하는 데 주로 사용되어 왔다.[citation needed]

21세기 관습

미국

공산주의의 몰락 당시 미국대통령 조지 H. W. 부시는 미국 언론에서 "자유 세계의 지도자"로 널리 묘사되었다.[citation needed] 부시의 대통령직 이후 그 용어는 거의 사용되지 않았다.
