그리스의 필리핀 사람들은 필리핀에서 그리스로 이주한 이주민들과 그 후손들로 구성되어 있다. 그리스의 공식 통계에 따르면 1991년 그리스에는 5,826개의 투볼이 있었는데, 이는 TAE에 의해 2,000개로 감소했다. 실제로는, 불법적으로 일하는 사람들이 더 많았다.[1][2] 필리핀 사회는 아테네 시내에 아이들을 위한 학교를 세웠다.[3]

일반적으로 가사노동자로 취업하는 여성(99년 기준 81%)이 큰 비중을 차지한다.[4] 1998년 출간된 그리스어 사전에서 필리핀 출신 가사노동자 또는 비필수 보조업무를 수행하는 사람이라는 뜻의 '필리핀자'를 '필리핀 출신 가사노동자'로 규정할 정도로 필리핀인과 가사노동의 연관성이 강하다. 이주민들과 필리핀 외무부는 이 사전과 관련해 그리스 정부에 항의했다.[5]
