2013년 짐머맨이 울트라 레코드에서 탈퇴한 이후 마우5트랩은 이전 파트너 레이블과의 파트너십을 종료했다.[7]2013년 6월 마우5트랩은 유니버설 뮤직 그룹의 자회사 아스트랄워크스(Astralwerks)와 잠시 파트너십을 맺었다.[7]2015년 마우5트랩은 코발트 뮤직 그룹을 통해 관리되는 음악권과 출판권을 가지고 완전히 독립적인 음반사가 되었다.[8]
2016년 짐머만의 8번째 스튜디오 앨범 W:/2016ALBUM/, Mau5trap의 첫 번째 완전 독립 앨범 발매가 되었다.[9]2017년에는 Mau5trap이 캐나다 음악 프로듀서 레즈의 데뷔 스튜디오 앨범을 'Mass Manifulation'이라는 제목으로 독립적으로 발매하기도 했다.[10]
2017년 마우5트랩은 10주년을 기념해 '마우5트랩 10주년'이라는 제목의 33곡의 수록곡을 발매했다.[11][12][13]
