소형 중형차나 소형 고급차는 프리미엄 소형차보다 크고 중형차보다 작은 고급차다. 소형 중역차는 영국의 용어로서 유럽 자동차 분류에서 D-세그먼트의 일부분이다.

중역차는 일반적으로 편안하고 시설이 잘 갖추어져 있어야 하며, 회사 차량으로 운행하기 위해서도 싸야 한다.[1] 그것들은 성능 특성이 있을 수 있고 종종 상태 기호로 보여진다. "실용차" 시장 점유율의 높은 퍼센트는 기업 소유의 자동차, 또는 기업이 사업을 위해 제공하는 자동차, 때로는 사적으로 고용된 자동차로 구성된다.[2]

미국

2016 캐딜락 ATS

'컴팩트 중역차' 설명은 미국에서는 자주 쓰이지 않지만, 유럽에서 수입된 특정 모델을 기술하고 있다.[3]

캐딜락 ATS는 소형 중역차로 묘사되어 왔다.[4][5][6] ATS는 이제 Cadillac CT4에 의해 계승된다.

영국

1973년 트라이얼 돌로마이트 스프린트

1971년 트라이엄스 돌로미트는 초기의 소형 중역차다.[7][8]

재규어의 첫 번째 소형 중역차(재규어 마크 2보다 크지만)는 2001년형 재규어 X타입이었다.[9] 그러나 판매는 실망스러웠다.[10] X형은 2014년 재규어XE로 대체돼 같은 분야에서 경쟁했다.[9]

이탈리아

알파 로미오 줄리아 (1962-1978)

알파 로미오의 모델 75와 155는 영국에서 소형 중역차로 여겨진다.[11] 1996년 알파 로미오 156은 이와 같이 분류되어 왔다.[12][13] 이어 알파 로미오 159, 줄리아(타입 952)가 뒤를 이었다.[12]

란시아의 초창기 소형 중역차는 1972년형 란시아 베타(타입 828)이다. 베타는 1980년부터 1984년까지 생산된 Lancia Trevi로 변했다. 5년 동안 부문을 떠나 있다가 1989년 란시아 데드라가 작은 란시아 프리즘아를 대체하면서 란시아가 돌아왔다. 데드라는 1998년부터 2005년까지 생산된 Lancia Lybra로 대체되었다.[14][failed verification]

독일.

1993년 메르세데스-벤츠 190E

독일에서 생산된 초기 소형 중역차는 1966년 BMW 02 시리즈였고, 1975년 BMW 3 시리즈가 그 뒤를 이었다.

1965년 아우디는 그들의 첫 소형 임원 모델인 아우디 72를 선보였다.

1983년형 메르세데스-벤츠 W201 레인지(이하 "메르세데스-벤츠 190"이라고도 한다)는 메르세데스-벤츠 최초의 소형 중역차였다.[15] 1993년 W201은 메르세데스-벤츠 C클래스 레인지로 대체되었다.[16][17]

시트로엥은 DS 5 해치백으로 컴팩트한 임원을 제공한다.[18]

스웨덴

2019년 볼보 S60

Volvo S60은 물론 부동산 버전 Volvo V60도 소형 중역차로 간주된다.[19][20]

일본.

2019년 렉서스 IS

일본에서 생산된 초기의 소형 중역차는 1988년형 마즈다 페르소나/유노스 300이었다.[21] 해외 시장에서 성공한 첫 일본 소형 임원은 1998년 렉서스 IS / 도요타 알테자.[22][23]

그 외 일본 소형차로는 인피니티 Q50([24]닛산), 아쿠라 TLX(혼다),[25][26][27] 마쓰다 제도스 6 등이 있다.[28]

대한민국.

2018년형 기아 스팅어 GT2 3.3L AWD

국내에서 생산된 소형 중형차로는 2017년형 제네시스 G70과 기아 스팅어가 있다.[citation needed]
