방글라데시-포르투갈 관계방글라데시포르투갈양자 관계를 가리킨다.방글라데시는 2012년 리스본에 대사관을 열고 이듬해 포르투갈 주재 첫 대사를 임명했다.[1][2]포르투갈에는 인도 뉴델리에 주재하지 않는 대사가 있다.

역사

바스코 가마의 인도 남부 상륙에 이어 말라카, 실론, 봄베이 등에서 온 포르투갈 무역상들이 벵골만 해로를 횡단하기 시작했다.16세기 초 벵골 술탄국은 포르투갈의 공식 사절을 받았다.[3]술탄은 치타궁에 포르투갈인 정착촌을 설립할 수 있도록 허가를 내주었고, 벵골에 있는 최초의 유럽 엑클라베가 되었다.벵갈은 무역상들에 의해 "무역상 가장 부유한 나라"[4]로 확인되었다.그들은 벵골에 많은 교역소를 가지고 있었고, 치타공에서 번성하는 바다 항구를 통제하는 데 사용되었다.이후 아라칸족과 무굴족을 상대로 한 전쟁 이후 포르투갈인들은 17세기에 치타공에 대한 통제력을 상실했다.[5]하지만, 그들의 후손들은 여전히 도시의 옛 지역에 살고 있다.포르투갈 선교사들은 방글라데시에서 기독교의 기초를 닦았다.

경제 협력

방글라데시와 포르투갈은 양국 간 상호 경제활동 확대에 깊은 관심을 보이며 이와 관련해 필요한 조치를 취해 왔다.[7]2010년 양국은 이중과세 회피협정을 체결했다.[8]양국은 그동안 양국 경제사절단 교류를 통한 양국 경제공동체 상호교류의 필요성을 강조해 왔다.[9]

포르투갈의 방글라데시 디아스포라

2012년 현재 포르투갈에는 약 15,000명의 방글라데시 주재원이 일하고 있다.[10]
