Arogyavani is an initiative first conceptualized and implemented by the Government of Karnataka. It is a toll-free health helpline number ( Dial to 104 ) functioning 24/7 hrs for the convenience of general public.[4][5] Arogyavani Health Information Helpline provides the medically validated advice, Health Related Schemes launched by various governments, health counseling services and also lodge the complaints against Healthcare service providers like Doctors, Hospital and corruption in Health sector.[6]

Presence in other States of India

After its success in Karnataka in agreement with Piramal Swasthya, the Government of Punjab started 104 Medical Helpline call center by entering into an agreement with Ziqitza Healthcare Limited from June 2014. In the state of Punjab, the services under the Arogyavani initiative are available in three languages namely Punjabi, Hindi and English.[7] In its first year, the 104 medical helpline proved boon for 47,476 people in the state of Punjab.[8]

In the state of Odisha, 104 health helpline number operates through a 20-seat call centre which is in compliance with National Health Mission(NHM).[9] The other states where 104 non-emergency medical helpline number is active are Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh.[10]

Objective

The main objective of 104 Medical Helpline number is to provide information and advice for health related services to general public seeking answers or resolutions for the following concerned areas:

  • 보건 서비스 공급자/기관, 진단 서비스, 병원 등을 추적하기 위한 정보 디렉토리.
  • 정부 의료기관의 서비스 부족, 과실, 부패 등과 관련된 개인/기관에 대한 불만 등록.
  • 당뇨, 심장 질환 등과 같은 장기 질환에 대한 조언
  • 건강 위협 및 기타 국부적 전염병에 대한 대응.
  • 상담 및 조언(스트레스, 우울증, 불안감, 외상 후 회복, HIV, 에이즈, RTI, STI 등)
  • 건강 및 증상 검사기(초기 평가, 독감 조언, 임신 관련 정보 등)
  • 응급처치 정보 및 조언.
  • 기타 보건 관련 서비스/이슈.[11]
