아난드 텔툼드(1950년 7월 15일생)는 인도의 학자, 작가, 인권 운동가로 고아 경영대학의 경영학 교수다.[1][2][3] 그는 인도의 카스트 제도에 대해 광범위하게 글을 썼으며 달리트의 권리를 주장해왔다.[4][5][6] 나렌드라 모디 총리를 오랫동안 비판해 온 인물로, 정부에 비판적이었던 다른 활동가, 지식인들과 함께 2020년 투옥됐다.[7] 그가 체포된 것은 다른 학계와 인권단체들로부터 비난을 받았으며, 법률 전문가들은 그에 대한 혐의가 조작된 것으로 보인다고 말했다.[7][8]

텔텀브데는 1950년 7월 15일 마하라슈트라 주의 야바트말 지구에 있는 마을 라주르에서 달릿 농장 노동자 집안에서 태어났다.[9][1][4][10] 그는 8남매 중 맏형이다.[11][12] 그는 B. R. 워싱턴포스트(WP)는 텔텀브드가 모디 비평가인 '변호사와 활동가들에 대한 정부 단속'의 일환으로 체포됐다고 보도했다.[4] 법률 전문가들은 텔텀브데에 대한 혐의가 조작된 것으로 보인다고 말했다.[8][29] 600여 명의 학자와 학자들이 텔텀브드를 지지하는 공동성명을 발표해 정부의 조치를 '마녀사냥'이라고 비난하고 텔텀브드에 대한 조치를 즉각 중단할 것을 요구했다.[30][31] 또 노암 촘스키와 코넬 웨스트 등 150여 개 단체와 지식인들이 안토니오 구테흐스 유엔 사무총장에게 서한을 보내 혐의를 '조작된' 것으로 설명하고 유엔의 개입을 촉구했다.[26]

텔텀브데의 휴대전화는 인도의 다른 12명 이상의 활동가, 변호사, 언론인들과 함께 왓츠앱을 통해 이스라엘 스파이웨어 페가수스에 의해 해킹당했다.[3][32] 텔텀브드는 자신의 휴대전화가 "작동 중"인 것을 알아차렸으며 이후 2019년 10월 시티즌랩으로부터 연락을 받았다.[33]

대법원은 2020년 3월 16일 텔텀브드의 피고인 개인에 대한 보석을 어렵게 하는 '불법행위(예방)법'에 따른 기대보석 청구를 기각했다.[34][35] 법원은 텔텀브데와 나블라카에게 항복할 수 있는 3주를 주었다.[35] 지난 4월 8일 아룬 미슈라 대법관이 이끄는 재판관은 텔텀브데에게 4월 14일 국가수사국에 투항할 것을 명령했다.[36] 로밀라 타파르 등 역사학자들과 휴먼라이츠워치 등 단체들은 체포를 비난했고 국제앰네스티는 인도의 COVID-19 대유행으로 모든 정치범들을 석방하라는 UNHCHR 지침에 비춰 실망감을 표시했다.[7][37][38] 그는 2021년 7월 다시 보석이 거부되었다.[39] 투옥된 동안 텔텀브드는 아내와 매주 2분씩 통화할 수 있게 되었다.[7]
