아미타브 말리크는 인도 국방기술자 겸 인도 국방과학연구개발기구(DRDO) 레이저과학기술센터 설립자로 국방시스템 설계 및 개발에 대한 전문지식으로 잘 알려져 있다.[1][2]인도[1][3] 국가안보자문회의(NSC) 자문위원이자 워싱턴DC 주재 인도대사관 국방기술보좌관을 지낸 바 있다.[2]21세기 국방기술, 기술, 안보에 관한 책: 수요 측면의 관점,[4] 그리고 50개 이상의 기술 논문과 국방기술에 관한 100개 이상의 기밀 분석 문서의 저자인 말릭은 2002년 인도 정부로부터 네 번째로 높은 인도 민간상인 파드마 슈라이를 수상하였다.[5]
