배경

알가로보스는 알가로보 나무에서 이름을 따온 해안 지방의 바리오이다.알가로보 나무는 잎이 반짝반짝 빛나고 보라색과 흰색의 꽃이 핀다.그것의 열매는 캡슐 모양의 꼬투리에 들어 있는 식용 물질로 덮인 씨앗으로 구성된 캐롭 콩이다.[6]

역사

마야귀에즈는 당국이 점령한 막사에서 멀리 떨어져 있어 완벽한 밀수꾼들의 은신처였다.그 가치는 알가로보스에 있는 카스티요 데 로스 발데스의 전략적 진출이었다.18세기와 19세기에는 관할 구역에 알가로보 요새가 있었고, 세로 데 엘비지아의 서쪽에는 스페인 대대가 하나 있었다.20세기 중반에 페냐 코르타다 부근에 바다 옆에 미국인 대대가 있었다.[6]

푸에르토리코는 1898년 파리 조약의 조항에 따라 스페인-미국 전쟁의 여파로 스페인에 양도되어 미국의 비법인 영토가 되었다.1899년 미국 전쟁부가 푸에르토리코 인구조사를 실시한 결과 알가로보 바리오의 인구는 1,054명이다.[7]
