델리 주의회 선거는 2020년 2월 8일 치러진 델리 주의회 선거인도국민당(BJP)은 아암 아드미당(AAP)[d]에 패배했습니다.마노즈 티와리 델리 BJP 대표는 이후 동료 정당 후보인 카필 미슈라(구호를 만든)의 증오 연설을 BJP 패배의 원인으로 지목했습니다.[57][58]

2월 22일, 여성을 포함한 약 500명에서 1,000명의 시위자들이 자프라바드 지하철역 근처에서 농성을 시작했습니다.시위는 지하철역으로의 진입과 출구뿐만 아니라 시엘람푸르-자프라바드-마우즈푸르 도로의 확장을 막았습니다.[59][60]시위자들에 따르면, 농성은 2월 23일 시작될 예정이었던 빔 군대에 의해 소집된 바라트 밴드와 연대한 것이라고 합니다.경찰과 준군사 조직원들이 현장에 배치되었습니다.[61]

시엘람푸르, 자프라바드, 마우즈푸르, 카담푸르, 바바르푸르, 고쿨푸리, 시브푸리 등에서도 폭력사태가 발생한 것입니다.[81][82]144조(집회 금지)는 모든 피해 지역에 부과되었지만 거의 효과가 없었습니다.[83][84]자프라바드에서는 반CAA측과 연관이 있는 것으로 알려진 한 남성이 경찰을 향해 총격을 가한 뒤 며칠 뒤 우타르프라데시주에서 체포됐습니다.[85][86]

시브 비하르에서는 오후에 힌두교도들이 소유한 여러 상점과 집들이 이슬람교도 폭도들에 의해 불태워졌습니다.이후 훼손된 노동자 시신이 현장에서 수습됐습니다.170대의 차가 있는 거대한 주차장이 폭도들에 의해 불에 탔습니다.[87][88][89]저녁 8시 30분경에는 타이어 시장(무슬림들이 주로 소유하고 있는 시장)에 불이 붙어 "자이 슈리 람"이라는 비명소리가 들렸습니다.[72][76]그날 밤 10시 반쯤, 폭도들이 "알라후악바르"라고 소리치면서 막대기와 돌, 칼로 스쿠터를 타고 이동하는 힌두 남성과 그의 나이든 아버지를 구타했습니다.그 남자는 그 자리에서 죽었습니다.[90]이날 경찰관 1명과 민간인 4명을 포함해 5명이 숨졌습니다.[77]

언론인에 대한 공격
